Celebrate the Spirit of Volunteering

Thuvakkam proudly hosted “Celebrate the Spirit of Volunteering 2025” at its Chennai headquarters on 13th December 2025. This special event served as a prelude to the upcoming Volunteer Summit 2025 | Edition 2. We were honored by the presence of esteemed Chief Guests—Thiru. Balakrishnan V IPS, Inspector General (Administration), Tamil Nadu; Mr. Sankara Mahalingam, Global Lead for Community Outreach at Firstsource; and Mr. Yasar Ahmad, Country Representative of France Volontaires. Adding to the significance were our distinguished panelists: Mr. Floran Jayaraj, Mr. Ramasubramaniam G, Ms. Sivapriya Azhaganandam, Mr. Arumugham Raju, Mr. Mangal Nates S S, and Mr. Marshal Kumar. The event also welcomed our Global Associate France Volontaires, Thuvakkam Board members, volunteers, and employees, making it a truly memorable celebration of service and collaboration.

Andichikulam Kanmai Inauguration

Thuvakkam in collaboration with Kaleesuwari foundations has successfully completed and inaugurated the Andichikulam kanmai in Sikkal, Ramanathapuram district. We had the immense pleasure of having Dr, S.Manikandan, Ph.D, Sr.. Manager- CSR of Kaleesuwari Foundations along with Mr. L Ravikumar Deputy BDO in Kadaladi block, Ramanathapuram district, Mr. Alexandar – Head Master- PUMS Andichikulam and the Thuvakkam team with Mr. Somu R, Sr Associate- Projects. The event kickstarted with the Community gathering where the people interacted with the team, and we went for the opening of the Project board. We also honored the Kaleesuwari foundations team and the Deputy BDO with souvenirs and had discussions with the beneficiaries!

Equipment distribution for Differently able people

On 3rd & 4th December 2025, Thuvakkam partnered with the Centre of Excellence for Rehabilitation, Govt. Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Tamil Nadu, to observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. At Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital and CER, KK Nagar, we distributed mobility assistive devices—wheelchairs and walkers—to seven beneficiaries with paraplegia, quadriplegia, and post-polio residual syndrome. The event was graced by Hon’ble Minister Thiru. Ma. Subramanian and other dignitaries. Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to inclusive development and pledged to empower persons with disabilities in alignment with UN standards.

Strengthening Global Volunteerism: Thuvakkam Partners with France Volontaires

Thuvakkam is delighted to have connected with France Volontaires, the French public platform for international volunteering, exchange, and solidarity. Established in 2009, France Volontaires unites the French State, local authorities, and civil society to promote global volunteerism and is recognized by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs as a key development aid stakeholder. Our collaboration began during the Thuvakkam Volunteer Summit, and we look forward to working together to strengthen volunteerism, global solidarity, and people-led development. We sincerely thank Mr. Etienne Rolland-Piegue, Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai, for his guidance and support. Together, we aim to create meaningful cross-border impact.

Warmth of Kindness across India

Thuvakkam in collaboration with Xoriant is extending the Warmth of Kindness Blanket distribution drive event Pan India. With the winter on it’s full swing, our partner pledged in providing 400 blankets for the needed people who stays on the pavements and homeless. During this drive, we distributed blankets in the cities of Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Delhi NCR. With 30 Volunteers in all the 4 cities, we distributed 285 Blankets for the people.
