Women’s Day Plantation event

Thuvakkam feels extreme pleasure in celebrating the Spirit of Womanhood, this Woman’s Day 2026! Celebrating this Give to Gain theme, 200 women volunteer force, along with other volunteers, came together in creating a greener space for the city. 200 Volunteers including the FCI Nagar residents joined hands in planting 1000+ saplings in the Urban Forest that we are developing in FCI Nagar, Old Perungalathur, Chengalpattu district.,

Give to Gain 2026

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2026, Thuvakkam hosted “Give to Gain: Connecting with Possibilities” on 13th March 2026 at the South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chennai. The event brought together inspiring women leaders, professionals, and changemakers from diverse sectors to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaborative problem-solving. It was honoured to have our esteemed Chief Guest Tmt. Seema Agrawal, IPS, Director General of Police & Director of Fire & Rescue Services, whose presence elevated the discussions on leadership and women’s empowerment.

Urban Forest Creation at Thazhambur with Ford

Thuvakkam in collaboration with Ford Business Solutions – India has partnered for an impactful greenery intervention in Thazhambur, Chengalpattu district, on 7th of February, 2026! We had Mr. Sreenivasan Janakiraman, Finance Director of Ford Business Solutions – India, along with an energetic volunteer force of 70 people who took part for Greening the space, planted over 1000+ saplings on the day of the event

Bunk Shop Distribution

As part of the “Empowerment through Employment” initiative, Thuvakkam, in partnership with Xoriant, successfully facilitated Bunk Shop distributions to women entrepreneurs across Tamil Nadu in the districts of Ramanathapuram (Paramakkudi), Trichy & Chennai (Pattabiram) – during the month of February 2025. The initiative focuses on supporting women working as street vendors, hawkers, and mobile vendors by providing them with basic infrastructure that strengthens their livelihood opportunities and economic independence.
