Hey there!
Glad you could make it! July was a great month for Thuvakkam as varied interactions were made possible. Events were conducted under the Environment, Education and Humanity domains. Thuvakkam, steadily being inclusive in its approach, an athletic event was conducted which witnessed a participation of more than 1000 young athletes. Volunteers being the strength of the organization, a meet up with volunteers was conducted at Thuvakkam’s office. Fun time of origami with stories woven around it, beautiful tapestry of great ideas of the volunteers were cherry on top of the meet up. These volunteers were further engaged in tree care activities, caring and pruning forests and tending to the growing plants. Best of all the POCSO awareness conducted in Kundrathur Girls Govt. school was indeed a highlight, impacting the lives of many. This July, seeds of change were sown, acts of awareness were performed, shoots of ideas were planted.

POCSO Awareness for All
Nothing is more satisfying than to stand in good stead. We believe this event has been one such event that in this month, Thuvakkam is grateful for being able to conduct an awareness event on POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) in Kundrathu Girls Govt. Higher Secondary School. Thuvakkam held hands withThulirgal and RMD hospitals, Aura Wellness center. Ms. Ishwary from RMD team was the pertinent speaker of the day, conveying the information of greater significance in the most suitable way for the students to relate and learn. The paramount aim was to make awareness of the POCSO Act to the students, much thereby extending their learning in helping their fellow humans. Students from grade VIII to XI attended the session, interacting and participating in the event. Important topics like the IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections, punishments and protection over victims were dealt meticulously, by Ms. Ishwaya.
The overall event conducted on Tamil Nadu Education day was wholesome, where team Thulirgal put up a skit on the importance of education.

Spotlight of the Month
Young and enthusiastic!
Thuvakkam with Talent Research Development conducted Track & Field Kids Athletic Championship ’22 on 9, July 2022, at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Chennai (Ground A), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Dr. Sarangan IPS (Rtd) was the guest of honor. The event saw a participation of more than 1000 student athletes from different schools including Kendra Vidhyalaya, Christ and more, and from various sport clubs. The event was conducted with the intention to augment sport interest amongst young students. The same was achieved as young athletes were sportive in both participation and winning. The overall championship was gleefully awarded to Padi Sports Club, followed by runner ups Karl Marx Sports Club.
Obligatory to the young kids was the honorarium, presented by Dr. Sarangan and other dignitaries. The amusing and energetic kids were never tiring, as the day came to an end with a lot of winnings and learnings.
